The Municipality of Mertzig published its first audited ECG report in 2020. Please find it here. By that, Mertzig became the first certified municipality in Luxembourg.

Profile

In 2019 Martzig embarked on a journey to become the first common good municipality in Luxembourg, and published its audited Common Good report in the following year. It has ever since served the common good, and wanted to develop itself further by structuring its efforts in the ECG framework.

For example, Mertzig cooperates with many syndicates such as SICONA, and partners, such as Arcus, for providing the best services to its citizens. It already received the European Energy Award Gold for two times, and is a Fairtrade and Climate Alliance municipality. Mertzig also provides jobs for persons with disabilities, created and maintains a Give-Box to foster sharing, and significantly increased the share of organic food in the school canteen.
